Hi Benny
I started off with HP, before turning to the bank. Maybe it's better to let the bank thing run to a conclusion before getting HP involved - not sure. I hope you see a conclusion to your case soon. The process has been rumbling along since the summer for me - each stage knocks off another week or two, or more. The time soon adds up, but I hope I'm nearing the end!

Cheers.

Finally, a resolution to my case has been achieved! :D My bank has refunded the full purchase cost of my dv2535ea under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act - and I'm grateful to them for that. I have the cheque in my hand.

My first letter to HP was in August last year, so this has dragged on for nigh on 6 months. Over a period of 6 weeks, I sent 3 letters to HP, including a copy of the engineers report. HP did not reply to any of my letters, even though Track & Trace showed they had received them. After the HP dead-end, I first wrote to my bank in October requesting a refund under Section 75, due to a breach of contract by HP. They requested copies of the letters to HP, the transaction receipt and the engineers report. They then attempted to contact HP themselves, but nothing came of that. Eventually, in January things had dragged on so much that I wrote to the bank again, but I didn't receive a reply. I then sent an email expressing my disappointment, 'I have been a loyal customer for...etc, etc', and I started filling in the Small Claims forms for the Sheriff's Court. A couple of days later I phoned the bank and was told they would settle my Section 75 claim. Today, the cheque arrived! :D

So, a big thank you to everyone on here whose stories have given me hope. And especially to Paul at Lapcure for setting up this excellent forum and for his help all along.

And finally, best wishes to all of you who are still trying to get a resolution to HP's nvidia debacle. Keep going...

Hello Daf,

Well done on your success :! :! :! :!

I am absolutely disgusted at the way HP appear to treat their customers.

Time after time we hear of letters and communications going unanswered. Customers have reported how HP have tried to charge them for a repair to a laptop that was inherently defective for which a charge should never have been made.

I think that it is scandalous that this kind of behaviour by a company can go unpunished and I think that they should be investigated for the way they are handling this problem and for the way they are treating their customers.

It is great news that the credit card company allowed your Section 75 claim, though I do hope that the card company can take action against HP to recoup the money as ultimately it should be HP who foot the bill for this.

Well done again though, I am really pleased that you found us and that we could help you reach this positive resolution. :! :! :! :!

Good luck and best wishes for the future.

Paul
