Hi

My HP DV9288EA purchased directly from HP fortunately via credit card died 4 days before the warranty ran out but unfortunately I thought it had already run out so tried to fix it via the usual processes but nothing worked. Understandibly HP have denied my issue has anything to do with their recall and known issues and only offered my paid email support...

Having found this site I have sent my first letter before action, via recorded delivery however the post office, however 18 days later it is still shown "the letter is in the network" therefore I don't know if it has been received. I certainly have received nothing from HP.

Can any one tell me if HP always reply? I sent it to the Amen Corner office, which is where other people have sent it... I am awaiting an update from the post office, but don't really want to send again unless I need to.

Is anyone able to share their experience with HP responses?

Many thanks

Graham

Hello Graham and welcome to our forum.

HP do not always reply, but in their defence it seems like your letter has gone astray.

The message you are receiving means that it has not been delivered. I would resend the letter again via recorded delivery.

The fact that you paid by credit card is excellent news as you will be ble to claim a Section 75 refund.

If you have any questions or need any advice then please let me know.

Best wishes

Paul

Hello Trignflo

I have heard of some sending letters to the Amen Corner address but then I have heard of others sending it to the following address:-

HP Complaints
PO Box 9225
Ashby-De-La-Zouch
LE65 9BW

I would send it to the above address if I were you as this is one of the addresses given out by HP themselves.

If you have any questions then please let me know.

Good luck and best wishes

Paul

My second letter's "within 7 business days" timescale runs out Tues 22nd June.

Hello,

Well, if you have sent the report and letter and it has been signed for then you should give them a quick call and tell them that this is their last chance to settle before costs to them are increased.

I would tell them that when you put the phone down you will be filing your claim online so this really is their last chance.

If they refuse then you should proceed with your small claims action.

I cannot believe how utterly diabolically bad HP's customer service is. First, knowingly or otherwise they sold thousands upon thousands of defective laptops and now they just turn their backs. Shame on you HP.

Good luck and best wishes

Having got nowhere with the HP support call line (too many options, none of which are suitable to report this kind of problem), what phone number would I use now please?
I sent my letters before action to HP Complaints at Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
I've had no response from them (the recorded delivery were signed for though), so have no case number to quote either.

Hi tringfo there is myself and a few others on this forum with the exact same model and are dealing/have dealt with retailers over our defective 7600GO laptops.

Hope you are able to resolve this issue, and remember a repair is 102% unacceptable!

Regards,
Gary K

I received a phone call from HP today, went to voicemail so I didn't get to speak to them, but the message basically said This is HP regarding your letter of (date) and request for refund of (amount) unfortunately your laptop is 922 (yes nine hundred and twenty two) days out of warranty....any problems call....

Therefore I at least know that they have received the letter and I take it that this is their response to that letter.

The interesting part is the warranty ran out in Feb this year, as I paid for a 3 year warranty when I bought it I find this 922 days strange.

I am taking this message to be their only response and therefore county court proceedings will have to be the next step....
