Laptop Make: HP
Model: Pavilion dv6-6104ea
Graphics Card: Unknown
Amount Paid: 0
Date Purchased: 0- 6-2011
Date Failed: 05 Aug 2013
I was given a new laptop by my insurance company when my old one broke two years ago. This new laptop was a HP Pavilion dv6-6104ea and was working perfectly until about 3 months ago. Then the fingerprint scanner stopped working, a month after that I could no longer unplug my laptop even though it was showing as being fully charged because it would then switch off within a few minutes. And now I am experiencing trouble with the fans. It keeps heating up excessively, and I've had the vents cleaned and yet it still overheats, now it is displaying an error message that tells me not to use the laptop until they're fixed because I could lose data.

I was going to pay for it to be repaired but I just wanted to check after stumbling across this site that I could claim back on my insurance and get them to either fix or replace my laptop?

Any advice you can give me would be gratefully received
