Model: Medion Lap Top 2007 Aldi

Initially I had a problem with the lap top fan continually running and the lap top crashing randomly. This then progressed to six screens on start up where an update of the graphics drivers seemed to solve, £100 spent on clueless so called computer engineers who diagnosed the drivers as the problem. This then progressed to six screens on start up which nothing could resolve. I then saw this site on the web and followed the advice. I wrote to Aldi using the template letter on this site and they replied stating that they would only have an obligation to repair the machine if Medion found the fault to be inherent. To be honest I thought I would be $%!!&$* against the wind from the outset as the machine was so old. Medion collected the lap top at their cost via a courier and responded with an offer of 25% refund which I thought was reasonable according to the refund calculator on this site. I mentioned to them that Aldi had stated they only had an obligation to repair and they responded that the machine could not be repaired due to graphics parts being obsolete (An obvious hint here that they have totally withdrawn this Nvidia part) I am £499.99 x 25% better off thanks to this site and ordinarily I would have just written it off as a clapped out lap top which had served its time. Well done to you all I am very very grateful and can now put that money towards a replacement.

Whilst on the Medion subject I bought an Ultra Book from their online site (Must be a glutten for punishment!) and had to return it within 10 days as it was an absolute horror of a machine to use, awful doesn't even get close. Bought a Lenovo Yoga instead from John Lewis which so far works very well.

Hello and welcome to my forum.

Well done on your success. :! :! :! :!

I am really pleased that you found my forum and that I was able to help you reach this positive resolution.

I know what you mean about the Medion Ultra Book, I have heard several similar stories from others who had purchased one of those.

Fingers crossed the Lenovo gives you years of faithful service.

Well done again and all the very best for the future.

Best wishes
