The Nvidia Defect Forum

I have had two HP TX 1138 laptops replaced / refunded now by Staples.

This second laptop, bought Sept 2007 for £649.99 failed after 11 months and was repaired under warranty. .... just show how you cannot trust repairs in the overwhelming number of cases!

It finally failed for the second and final time early last year ..... however since it was located in the good old U S of A, I did not have chance to get it looked at till November 2010, when my daughter came back over ......

Staples asked for an engineers report when I called into the local store, to which our illustrious site owner kindly provided via the on line booking service he provides.

Upon receipt of this report they agreed to allow me to select a replacement up to the value of £400, or a cheque if no suitable alternative was to be found.

The current laptops on Staples lists where not quite to the liking of my daughter so a cheque will be in the post as soon as I take the defective one back !

The first laptop I returned to them was replaced and I was happy to spend that money in a Staples store. This time it was not to be ..... but Staples should be reassured that I will be back to spend my money with them in the future !!!

Now I just have to wade through pages of info on a ' net top' replacement, witha Mini Ion - Intel Atom 330 Dual Core 250GB HDD 2048MB DDR2 800Mhz Memory NVIDIA ION Chipset from Novatech being favourite http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/pc/range/miniion.html

Staples really are one of the best companies for the way they are dealing with this problem and I have nothing but admiration for them, which is more than can be said for the other retailers!
