Neil,

I'm assuming that you issued the claim using Money Claim Online (MCOL).

If so then, once MCOL receive the defence, they will transfer the case to your local court. Your local court will then send you an Allocation Questionairre (AQ) to be completed (Paul's got a guide on here to help you complete it).

Once the completed AQ's are back with the court they will allocate it to a track (Small Claims track) and (usually) list it for a hearing - at this point you'll be asked to pay the hearing fee.

Just one thing to point out - depending on where your local County Court is, it may be some time before you hear from them with the AQ's - a number of courts are severely in arrears with their work at the moment (some are over 50 working days in arrears) and it's likely to get worse with the current redundancies & expected strike announcement this afternoon. :(

Hello Neil,

It is now a waiting game and the length of time you will wait depends on how busy the court is.

The wheels of justice grind awfully slow!

Fingers crossed for you. :x

That is not bad at all Neil. Some claimants are having to wait months for a court date.

It won't be long now and this whole episode will be over.

Best wishes
