Hi Paul, The fact is that new nvidia GPUs manufactured since 2009 do not have overheating issues. This was confirmed by nvidia itself, issue has been corrected and these are used by many laptop manufacturers even today. Temperature is also much lower with new GPUs ...

... laptop. How can HP deny there is a problem with your laptop when they issued the BIOS update to switch the fans on 24/7.? Why else, other than for overheating issues, would HP do such a thing? They haven't released this update for all models of laptop so why yours? Simple, your laptop overheats ...

You were lucky that you didn't receive burns as a result of using the laptop under such extreme temperatures. I will keep my fingers crossed ...
