... replaced and these mainboards, according to Dell, were supposed to contain "revised chipsets". What you have described is typical of a GPU failure so quite how Dell can state to the contrary is beyond me. How on earth can the supervisor state that the fault could be caused by the "motherboard ...

... 55-68c, plus the fan only kicks in when it reaches the high 60s so looks like they haven't done the BIOS update. Dell replaced the motherboard and GPU, replaced the LCD screen (not sure why) and replaced the faulty DVD drive free of charge. In all it took about a week from courier pick-up to courier ...

... the Nvidia chip defect is a thing of the past and is not present in current models. There is however a problem with the solder used to bond the GPU's to the mainboard, though you would have to be very unlucky to purchase yet another defective laptop so you should be okay. Well done again Denise ...

... like I say though I have little to no confidence that this will be a proper fix. Is there any way of telling though when I get it back whether the GPU is a dodgy one? If I do have another failure though and go down the rout of suing Dell, what should I expect for a resolution on the case? BTW, ...
