hi all, my laptop failed (blank screen) about three months ago completely (was on and for for more then six months) and only looking for new motherboard i found this forum!! which is so great!!
i read all where to start and what to do, but a question is is it worth it to go to a store where i bought it from, or just fill an after warranty form and send it to them by recorded delivery? i have downloaded the form allready. i bought a laptop 3 years ago and payed £670
and what date shall i write, the date it failed? or it can not be any early then the date you send a form, applyed? as i understand that the date you write down when it's failed they calculate how much to pay you back.
thank you

Hello George and welcome to our forum.

Sorry to hear of the problems you have been experiencing with your laptop.

There is little point in dealing with Tesco at store level as they will no doubt just keep repeating, parrot fashion, that you are out of warranty.

The failure date is the first date that you reported the problem to them. If you haven't yet reported the fault to them then the date of failure would have to be entered as fairly recent which should be within the last 3-4 weeks.

The refund is based on how long the laptop lasted and how much unused usage you have left.

If you have any questions or if you need any help then please let me know.

Good luck and best wishes

Paul
