Goodluck bobo1.
Don't get into a long, drawn out battle over this.
State what you want, get it in the courts and let the judge decide. ;)

Hi everyone

Just an update, emailed Engineers report across on Thursday afternoon and yesterday PC Word came back and offered me £210 on a gift card plus engineers report cash
I declined the offer and today I have spoken to their customer resolution dept and we have agreed on an amount of £330{including report) by BACS transfer :D as they said they couldn't guarentee when gift card would come due to postal strikes.

I am quite happy with that especially as I will get it early next week
I just want to say a huge thankyou to this website and Paul because without it the laptop would of probably went into the bin and would have had to spend some cash that we didnt really have.
This way we still will have to add to it but just not as much.
Thanks again the whole thing has been done and dusted in just short of 2 weeks 8-)

Excellent news bobo1.

Really glad you got a positive resolution.

I have to say, getting it "done and dusted in just short of 2 weeks" really must be a record! :o

Well done again.

Best wishes

Nice one Bobo 1, good for you.

I contacted PC World today about my claim and have been offered a repair, which I have refused! I have advised them they have until 7 days since they received my engineers report to respond to my satisfaction or I IWLL commence with litigation.

Has anybody served notice on PC world before, if so can you advise who the defendant is PW World or the parent company DSG International ???

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Did you email or post your report ?

I found when I spoke to the customer resolution team first they were just trying to get rid so i emailed it across and thats were I got the initial offer from then I referred back to the telephone option and got the final offer.
When I spoke to them yesterday I was given there litigation dept as :

litigation dept
dsg int
building 4 ,2 west
maylands ave
hemel hempstead
hp2 7tg
quoting your case reference

Since I posted that this morning i have since had a phone call from the email dept offering me £250 in full and final settlement including the Engineers report costs,I let him try and justify the offer for a while and then decided to tell him that I had actually already accepted an offer for £330  I did have a little bit of fun though hehe
I think its just the luck of the draw who you get and how firm you are,i just tried to remain calm throughout and only mentioned the court proceedings at the very last call but it got me a result I am please with so hopefully everyone else will too
Good Luck
