hi paul,

I have made the payment of £65 pounds now, can you confirm you have recivied this.

I also recived a letter from dixons today and it seemed to come from sheffield. I think this is where there customer service is and must have been forwarded by thier head office to them. My later was date 16th ahugust and the later that i got was dated 2 september. The letter stated that they have tried to contact me by phone, but unable to as they didn't have my phone. My number was not provide on my letter. They have given me a name and ext that I need to speak to.

Can you advise what i should when i call next week. I ssume they will try to say its out of warranty or they will try a repair. If they were to offer some sort of compenstation at this point, are they liable for the cost of the engineers report.

thanks

Yes thank you, that has been received and I have now sent you an email to arrange the return of your laptop.

I wouldn't call them back just yet as they don't have a copy of your report yet. You should send a copy of the report along with the final letter before action and then wait to see if they try to contact you again.

If they fail to contact you within seven business days then you should give them a call to tell them that they have one last chance to settle with you and that when you put the phone down you will be filing your small claims action.

If they mention the fact that your laptop is out of warranty then you should tell them that the warranty status is irrelevant as you have six years to take action when the goods in question are inherently defective.

I would tell them that the only resolution you are interested in is either a refund or a replacement laptop as repairs are out of the question due to their unreliability.

Send the report in and see what they say then pop back here and let me know and I will advise further.

Any questions please let me know.

Good luck and best wishes

Paul

Hi,

Should i send the copies from email or should i wait till you send the report with the laptop.

Also should i send the letter to their head office again or where the letter was address from and should i include the ref number from that letter. (am I acknowledging the letter that they have sent)

Should i also include my phone number onthe letter as well.

Hello Mostak,

Please find answers to your questions below:-

You should send one of the copies that comes with the report as you will need to send it with a letter before action and via recorded delivery.

I would send the report to the address on the letter that you have received plus I would quote the ref number at the head of the letter before action.

Yes, if you include your phone number this will then allow them to contact you much quicker than by post. When they realise they only have seven days before the next stage they will want to move pretty fast.

If you have any further questions then please let me know.

Good luck and best wishes

Hello Mostak,

Yes, I would send the report along with the final letter before action to the person who sent you the letter.

Please don't forget to send it recorded delivery and to keep copies of the report, letter and postal receipt.

If, after seven business days they have not responded in the positive then you should move on to the next stage which is the small claims court.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes

Paul
