Hi everyone.

So I have a Dell Vostro 1510 and it's about 2 years old. It was still working fine until recently, when the edges of the screen blurred and darkened during a game I was playing. Then the screen went black and I had to wait a bit before it came back up. After a bit it went permanently black. The laptop still works fine but the screen didn't display. I eventually found out (by means of hooking it up to another monitor so it displayed, albeit with horribly grainy color) that the graphics card wasn't working (Code 43). I didn't know what to do and since I had no warrently I would have had to pay to call Dell support. So I decided I'd have to buy a new graphics card when I found your site. I read some very similar stories and just wondered what I should do if I live in Germany and bought my laptop from Dell.com (so American not British). Do you help people outside of Britain too? And if so what do you recommend I do?

Sorry to hear of the problems you have been experiencing with your laptop.

It is very difficult to know what to advise as you are outside of the UK and so are not covered by the Sale Of Goods Act, which is what we rely on here in the UK.

The best advice I can give is to seek some legal advice in your country to see if you can take action against Dell.
