Hello,
Unfortunately I'm posting in this forum. As you all expect; my laptop began showing BSODs. Said something about "timeout to reset the graphic driver", and some other times nvlddmkm.sys I believe.
Anyways; I contacted Asus, but my laptop is now 6 months out of warrenty. They said they couldn't fix it, because it was out of warrenty, and the repair would cost at least 75 euros to look at the laptop. Though, I believe my problem is due to the nvidia 8600 flaw; so I just send out an email with some evidence backing me up. No response yet.
After some more googling I found this great forum, and I was wondering if you could help me out. See, I'd like to get the GPU fixed, or a replacement laptop which is just as good as the one I currently have, an F3Sv. How can I convince Asus to get me what I want? Since I'm from the Netherlands, I'm afraid some of the laws described aren't in order here..
Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

P.s. Some eye-candy in the attachment: The latest bsod caused windows to look like this.

Hello GH and welcome to our forum.

Sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing with your laptop.

I have heard a lot of reports of customers having real problems getting Asus to face up to their responsibilities.

It is unfortunate that I cannot advise on the law in your country but I suggest that you take some legal advice to see if you can sue in your equivalent of the UK's small claims court.

If you paid by credit card then you can contact the card company and get them to help you reach a resolution.

I would start by seeing if there is a legal route that you can take to apply pressure on Asus to resolve your situation.

Sorry I cannot be more positive in my advice.

Please keep us updated on your progress.

Good luck and best wishes

Paul

Well, an update. They keep on saying I have to send it to them, but they cannot guarentee me that I won't have to pay. Honestly, I aint gonna cough up 75 euro for just the shipping/service, and then maybe an additional 200 for the mobo. Not to mention that the chip might die again.
So I'm trying to convince them go give me some sort of guarantee, but I'm afraid I'm pulling the short straw. Afterall, they aren't obliged to give me that guarentee, and I'm wondering if I shouldn't try to try and fix it myself... 275+ euro for a fixed laptop, or 600 for a brand new one..
Sigh. Dilemma.
