Hi,

I understand that many people are having issues with the offers Tesco are making to customers when claiming for their faulty laptops. I paid £700 for my model and think that it will be unacceptable if they offer £150 which seems common. As a result, I was wondering if it would be possible for all who have sent a claim to Tesco to band together and scan in the offers that they have received. I think if we build a library of these, it will aid those making claims in future, since Tesco do not seem to acknowledge that anybody else has contacted them regarding the issue. Obviously, first I think we need approval from an admin and whether or not general consensus supports this idea.

Thanks

Hello G188ONS,

I agree with you and think that all communications that are received from any of the retailers should be copied up to here to help others.

Of course one should remove their identifying details from such documents, but I wholeheartedly support this type of action.

The retailers can be brought to task then when they try to claim that they are unaware of any problems.

Best wishes

Paul

Sweet! Glad people are willing to participate. I will upload my letter when I can. They offered me £280 which I accepted since I had already sold the laptop for spares for £350, but kept the receipt and sent it off (what was the worse that could happen). So for 13 months usage I only lost £70, hardly worth bickering about!

I'd just like to thank the runners of the site for helping me because if I had not found it, I would have lost out!

Hello Gi88ons,

Well done on your success :! :! :! :!

You were lucky they didn't ask for the laptop prior to the refund, you could have come unstuck there.

Well done again though and all the best for the future.

Best wishes

Yeah, that's what I thought. If they did ask for the machine, I think I would have just ignored it and considered it a loss. All in all I'm happy and have now decided to avoid HP machines like the plague!

I still do intend to upload my letter, but have since switched to a Mac and my current all in one isn't compatible. Would you consider putting this at the top of the Tesco thread so people could use it for reference and hopefully build up a library of Tesco's responses?

Keep up the great work!
