Well, the Long awaited update.
SUCCESS!!!! Yes SUCCESS!!!!
Many Many Many THANKS PAUL.
I am now the Proud owner of a Toshiba L775-111. Arrived today and I am Really Pleased.
This is courtisy of Toshiba UK, who eventually agreed to supply me with a brand new replacement. Initially I was offered a slightly inferior model, but after some very pleasant negotiation we agreed on the above model with an improved memory of 8gb.
I must be honest and fair to Toshiba UK, and especially a very nice young lady called Chloe, they were really helpful. As you are aware Paul, it was their so called engineer that tried to put the preverbial spanner in the works, by saying it was all down to "Dust, fluff and nicotine contamination".
However the letter I finally sent seems to have done the trick.
I cannot Thank you enough Paul for All your Help, Time and Patience. Without which I would not have managed to gain this success.
Really Appreciate Everything you've done Paul.
For all others out there struggling to get a resolution, have Faith and be patient. It will be worth it. Use all the links on this site and quote as many as you can when writing your letters. I included two pages of web links in my final letter.

I am really pleased for you because Toshiba had really thrown down the gauntlet in your case and the inference was that the alleged nicotine stains along with some dust had somehow caused the GPU to fail in exactly the same way as those that were failing from the Nvidia defect.

I don't know why they went as far as they did but nevertheless they capitulated in the end which is fantastic. :D
