Hello Andrew and welcome to our forum.

Sorry to hear that your laptop has failed.

Great news though that PC World are complying with their obligations, it looks like you are in for a speedy resolution.

If you can let me know the exact date that you reported the failure to PC World then I will calculate what refund you should expect.

Best wishes

Paul

Hello Andrew,

Ok, so based on a purchase price of £485 and 32 months usage I have calculated that the minimum they should be offering you is £226.

If they let you keep the laptop then you would get between £100 and £125 on Ebay in its current condition.

I hope the above helps.

Any questions please let me know.

Best wishes

:! I too have had the same experience as andrewt. PC World replied to my standard notice letter offering to resolve the issue if the laptop proved to be faulty, all I had to do was to take it to a local store to be checked. I accepted a credit for £490 when it was found to be.
I can't tell you how pleased I am, the laptop was my sons, who is a student, paid for with hard earned cash from a part time job. We had more or less written it off as it was so long ago that it failed & we had never heard of Nvidia.
I was expecting to battle it out all the way so I am very relieved that it has all been sorted so easily & to be fair PC World have been helpful & courteous throughout. I'm not sure if £490 is a fair offer but my son has a new laptop with better specifications than his original one & I don't have to pursue this any further which is fine by me.
A great big thank you to the forum we wouldn't have done it without you.

Hello JulieH,

Well done on your success :! :! :! :!

I am really pleased that we could have helped you reach this positive resolution.

Depending on when you informed PC World the result is a good one and is a whole lot better than an expensive doorstop :D
