Hello Deldude,

Sorry for the delay in my reply.

It is true that Dell do not actually make their products but this is done on their behalf.

It is my belief that they have all the parts made then they assemble them or even have them assembled on their behalf.

It is irrelevant though as ultimately Dell are responsible and after that it is just the domino effect.

Best wishes

Paul

Paul,
i guess what you told another fellow applies here also?
too late for me to object or anything or refuse the repair so take the repair and when i get it back, collect evidence that the part is doomed to same fate and use that in a small claims?
nobody addressed my concerns as 2nd owner, do i have
legal leg to stand on? or get back to original owner to take action if a stern letter does not work?
recall that Dell made me file ownership transfer to open a case.

just got the VOSTRO back earlier today..
posted temp and torture tests to the TEMPS thread:
-------------
8400M-GS
55 idle
86 @ 5 minutes of "rthdribl"
89 @ 10 minutes
89 @ 30 minutes of "rthdribl"

DELL Vostro 1400
arrived earlier today after new "MLB" repair at Dell.

good or bad?
----------------------

I guess those temps are a bit high?
does anyone think a non-Nvidia motherboard would be a good solution?
Something a Dell guy said has me thinking there is one that will fit the chassis.
My choice tho would be a refund now since they pulled this underhanded "repair" I dont really like or trust them now.

Hello Delldude,

Those temps are not good and the laptop would not last long operating under those conditions.

You will find that after a short period of time those temps will start to climb which is not good if you were to be using the laptop on your knee.

I would get back in touch will Dell and would tell them that the temperature your laptop is reaching is unacceptable and that are unable to use the laptop on your knee.

I would further tell them that you now want an alternative offer of a resolution as their repair has obviously not worked.

What do you think?

Best wishes

I no longer want Dell or their junk tactics.
I prefer to begin demanding a refund for the person that gave me the Vostro. She paid like almost 900 for it i think and only got to use it a year.
i'm sure she would reward me more than what a p.o.s. ez-break
laptop is worth.

Dell people already know the board they put in my machine wont last before they even put it in there.
i think they should be charged criminally for even trying to call this a "repair". more junk parts to replace the $900 in junk parts they already suckered us with?
anyone else would be BUSTED as a SCAMMER.

is there an engineer here in the states that will give me the engineer report?

I cannot get Dell to listen to anything i say..however i am scheduled to return the laptop for service again. all i know to do is to press the GPU temps issue. They will be able to see for themselves but remains to be seen if they can do the right thing.
