Help with post office please.
My leter was sent on 10/10/11 by recorded delivery.
I looked up the PO website and entered the number of the letter.
It only says "delivered from our HULL Delivery Office on 11/10/11 ".
I thought I would get more details than that like a copy of signature and time of delivery.
Having never used this service before, am I missing something?

Hello Themucker,

If you look on the tracking screen in the box that says "Delivered" there should be a button that stays "View Proof Of Delivery". If you click on that then you should be able to see who signed for it.

If the link is not there then I am not sure why not but that is not really that important as you have proof of delivery and that is what is important.

You should try tracking the delivery on the following site if you do not see that link:- http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/pers ... tId=500185

Have you spoken to Comet since sending the letter?

I would give them a call and would tell them that you have proof that they have received the letter you sent and I would ask them what they are proposing as a settlement.

I was using postoffice.co.uk and it is useless.
royalmail.com gives me exactlly what I was looking for.
Now I know for sure they have got it, I'll call them tomorrow.
What is the best number/person to call?

Just received a letter from Comet.
Just the usual we're sorry blah blah blah, they have no previous reported problems, or evidence of manufacturing defect, satisfactory quality, fit for purpose at time of sale, rubbish. Therefore they can't agree to my request at this time.
However, if I can provide documentary evidence that my "laptop" (it's a PC) was faulty at the time of sale they will investigate further.

If it's evidence they want then it's evidence they shall get.
Second letter will be sent now and an engineers report obtained, the cost of which will be added to my claim.

Why do they have string these things out, it just costs them more in the long run.
