Hey, I brought a HP G6032ea a few years back, (can't quite remember when, will have to dig out the paper work to know exactly) but now i have no screen and it just restarts over and over.

The charger for it broke, and I didn't bother with it for about 4/5 months as I had a spare laptop. Now my spare laptops gone, I decided to buy a charger for it off ebay. I plugged it in, and it started up for about 10 seconds. It got just past the HP screen and then suddenly turned off.

I turned it on again, but now theres no screen and it just restarts itself over and over. The blue led ring around the charger, sometimes goes off, so i assume the jack for my charger maybe a bit dodgy. (Could be why it randomly turned off?)

Anyways, I havn't had many problems with it asides from this one. I've tried taking out the battery and turning it on, no change. I also took out the ram and put it back in but no change. Plugged it into tv, but it just shows up no signal on the tv.

I made sure the HP part no was the same as my old charger.

Any help? Thanks - Aaron.

Hello Awooon and welcome to our forum.

Sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing.

When you plug the charger in does the battery charging light illuminate?

If you plug the AC Adaptor in and hold it in place so that the blue LED ring stays lit does the laptop work?

Please let me know and I will advise further.

Best wishes

Yeah the led ring lights up, its just if it jolt it a bit to the side it sometimes will the light will turn off, but this is very rarly and only if its held in a certain place. I will start up, but the screen doesnt turn on, and after about 20 seconds it'll just restart its self.

Hello Awoon,

Ok, well it sounds like you have the dreaded defect then as the symptoms that your laptop is displaying are a classic example of the defect.

I have a few questions.

Who did you purchase the laptop from?

How did you pay for the laptop?

Can you prove purchase?

Can you let me know the P/N from the underside of the laptop and also the correct model number. Both are printed an the white barcode sticker on the underside of the laptop.

Please let me know and I will advise further.

Best wishes

Hello Awooon,

If it was your mother who paid for the laptop then it would have to be her that chases the refund as she is the one who purchased it as therefore the one with whom the contract is with.

If she paid by credit card then that would be excellent as the card company is jointly liable with the retailer for the inherent defectiveness of your laptop.

So, at the moment it is looking good for you.

You just need to find out where you purchased it from now.

For more help and advice please click on the Step by Step link in my signature at the bottom of this post.

If you have any questions then please let me know.

Best wishes

Hello there, I see that you have been talking to my son Aaron about his Laptop, well as you said that it was me that purchased it for him, then it appears that I will have to take it from here, You were waiting to see who we purchased it from and that was WWW.CCLONLINE.COM, does this help? Have you had any dealings with them? or with Aaron's particular type of computer? At the moment the Laptop is completely dead, even when plugged into another screen, it has died. Very cross about this, as this was a present. I have the original purchase receipt for £449.00 on the 18/10/07 paid for by Mastercard, Should I let Mastercard know that there is a problem and what shall I e-mail the Retailer online and say? Regards Jenny Holmes

Hello Jenny,

I have had dealings with CCLONLINE and I cannot say that I am impressed with them or with the way they are dealing with this matter.

I have worked on a large number of your sons model of laptop and they all had the defect.

It is good news that you paid by credit card as the card company is as liable as the retailer for the inherent defectiveness of your laptop.

In the first instance I would contact CCL and tell them that your laptop has failed due to what you believe to be the Nvidia defect.

They may tell you that you are out of warranty. You should tell them that the warranty status is irrelevant as you have six years to take action against them when the goods in question are inherently defective.

They may then tell you to contact HP. You should tell them that your contract is with CCL and not HP and so it is up to CCL to resolve the situation.

If CCl refuse to comply then you should contact Mastercard and tell them that your laptop is inherently defective and that depending on how the retailer deals with this that you will have to make a Section 75 claim against them.

Start off with the above, see what CCL say then pop back here and let me know and I will advise further.

Any questions please let me know.

Good luck and best wishes

Paul
