Hi Paul,

PC World contacted back today regarding issue, they advised I return the laptop to my PC World store, so they can check it over and confirm its the same laptop I'm enquiring about, and that it has the Nvidia defect as talked about in the report. I'd done that, while in the store, they employee took my word for it that it suffered the defect and as I was in the store, I got the employee to contact the girl whom was dealing with my case at PC World Customer Resolutions Team, to contact her.

He'd made the call, stated the case ID and confirmed the laptop & fault was a stated, I then spoke to the girl on the phone from Customer Resolutions Team, whom then offered the vouchers for a replacement laptop, I'd advised I bought a new computer about two weeks ago, and that I'd like cash payment instead, seeing I've already replaced the faulty laptop with a new computer from PC World.

She'd agreed to pay £240 cash payment into my bank account, considering I paid £490 for the laptop, they'd to take into consideration that I'd the laptop for all most 3 years, so they'd to make a deduction.

I then had a follow up call today from PC World finance team, wanting to confirm bank details so payment can be made today into my bank account.

Was it right in them paying £240 or should it have been the lot?

The girl stated herself, that because of the nature of the issues your experiencing with the laptop, it wouldn't benefit from a repair job as we couldn't guarantee that the fault will not occur again, which tell's me she has probably dealt with similar issues in the past.

Will check back soon,

Thanks! Colin

Hello Colin,

Well done on your success :! :! :! :!

I did a quick calculation and to be honest their offer is quite fair and so I would be inclined to accept it.

It is interesting to note what the girl at PC World told you though when she stated:-

Quote:
...... because of the nature of the issues your experiencing with the laptop, it wouldn't benefit from a repair job as we couldn't guarantee that the fault will not occur again,

Hallelujah! - at last someone who speaks sense.

The lady who said that to you should be congratulated as she is one of the very few involved in the retail sector who has actually admitted to this.

Well done again though on your success, I am really pleased for you. :! :! :! :!

Best wishes

Paul

Cheers Paul,

If it hadn't have been for this forum I'd probably have lost out, as I didn't believe there was much you could have done. It was straight forward procedure, the number I used though out all the call's made was '0844 800 9090' & I must congratulate PC World, their customer service to myself was outstanding. The e-mail address I sent the report to was: 'customer.services@pcworld.co.uk' and I attached the CASE ID I was assigned with when first contacting PC World regarding the issue.

Hope other's have the same success as I did.

Thanks so much Paul once again! I'll stay across the forum n try offer advise to others with similar issues to mine.
