Hello Jambo1967 and welcome to our forum.

Sorry to hear that your laptop has failed.

Please could you let me know the P/N from the white label on the underside of the laptop and I will see if I can find any further information.

Please would you also let me know who you purchased from and the method of payment.

Have you already reported the failure to the retailer?

Please let me know and I will advise further.

Best wishes

Paul

Hello Jamie,

I did a quick check to see if I could find any further information relating to your model of laptop but could not find anything.

Your laptop contains an Nvidia 7150 GPU (MCP67M-A2) and whilst it is not as popular as some of the other defective GPU's it is still being reported as failing.

What problems were you experiencing with the laptop and what were the findings of the repair company that inspected your laptop?

Please let me know and I will advise further.

Best wishes

hi Paul

the screen does not work simply put and laptop and get very warm, i called hp UK and they say its not on list, but gave me another number to call, are u saying its part of the defective batch?the repair company tried a new screen, still no joy, i have been told a replacement motherboard would cure problem but surely thats for hp to fix and not for me to pay for?

Hello Jambo,

I am not sure why the repair company did not test your laptop further in order to more definitively diagnose the cause of the fault.

You are quite correct that HP should pay for the repair to your laptop, though that can only be done once the laptop has been proved to be inherently defective.

I would say that you really need to obtain an engineers report in order to take matters further. If you chose to send the laptop to me for a report and I find that your laptop is not inherently defective then all will pay is the collect and return carriage, which is £20.

I hope the above helps.

Any questions please let me know.

Best wishes

Hello Jambo,

We are based in Hunslet in Leeds and out address is as follows:-

Lapcure
Metro House
57 Pepper Road
Hunslet
Leeds
LS10 2RU

Did you find out if you paid by credit or debit card? If you did pay by credit card then you have extra protection.

You stated that you will be chasing HP but in your profile it states that you purchased from a high street store.

Who did you actually purchase from?

Please let me know and I will advise further.

Best wishes

Paul
