Good morning
Thank god I have found this site! !
Like many I have a hp 6735s, bought from ebuyer 2009
Suddenly gone faulty no display, power and wifi on constant. Then caps lock will blink 3 times
My understanding is that this might be a memory issue.
But does it fall into the NIVIDIA category??
I sent the obligatory letter to ebuyer initially by enote.
Just want an initial feeling from them as to how hopeful I should be.

Also my other half is so upset as we had loads of stuff on there that we may have lost.
Any advice on the quickest cheapest way of retrieving the data if we have to?

Thanks again for a fantastic site!

Hello and welcome to my forum.

Sorry to hear that your laptop has failed.

Firstly, do not worry about the contents of the hard drive as that is still safe and can be recovered so all is not lost.

The three led blinks does indeed point to the memory as being the cause of error and if this is the case then you would not have a claim against Ebuyer as this cannot be deemed a "inherent" or "manufacturing" defect.

All that is required is that the memory is replaced (or the particular module that has failed) - if the blink code is correct and the memory is indeed the root cause of the failure.

I have plenty of memory sticks available for your laptop so if you could send me an email I would be happy to send you a stick with instructions on how to fit it.

If the memory works then you can pay at that point. If not then there is nothing to pay and we will need to investigate further.

How does this sound?

Please let me know.

Best wishes
