Hello Northender,

Well done on your success :! :! :! :!

I am really pleased for you!

You are quite right that HP seem to only comply once you have issued a small claims action against them but I guess this is a tactic that they use to separate those customer who say they will sue but don't and those who say they will sue and do.

I guess it saves them a fortune in the long run :x

Well done again though and all the best for the future.

Best wishes

Paul

Northender,

Congratulations on your success :! :! :!

To cancel the court action just write to the court (address should be on the AQ) quoting the case number and stating that you have settled and therefore wish to withdraw the action.

After ringing HP Direct to confirm I'd received the replacement laptop, and telling them I was cancelling the court action last Thursday, they rang me again today to ask "Have you received the replacement laptop yet?".
Not only is this bad enough, but it was the same person who I had rung that made this call today

You've nothing to beat if you take HP Direct on, their incompetence is becoming legendary on the NVidia Defect.

Well surprise surprise, HP have now requested I now fill in a customer service questionnaire about their Complaints Dept, so it had to be done!!!!

"Hewlett-Packard's records indicate that you recently contacted the Complaints Department to request support for your product or
to solve your problem.

We are very interested in your feedback and have asked Harris Interactive, a world leader in market research, to assist in collecting and evaluating the quality of your complaint experience.

Your feedback will help drive HP's on-going efforts to improve its service and support. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes
to complete. Your responses will remain confidential and will only be used in aggregate, unless otherwise specified. HP will only use
this information to improve the services it provides to its valued customers.

To access the survey, click on the link below or simply copy and paste the link into your browser address bar.

We look forward to receiving your feedback. Thank you in advance for your participation!"

I filled in the ratings & gave a less than satisfactory feedback, then they asked for any particular issues I'd like to raise, so this is what I fed back:-

To take responsibility when an inherently defective product has been sold (NVidia GPU defect), that HP address the problem directly.
They ignored my letters before action & only decide to talk to me when court action was instigated. Even an acknowledgement of my letters would be better than totally ignoring them.
Once I was engaged with a customer service agent, they were polite, but didn't seem empowered to address my complaint & only offered a satisfactory solution once I pushed & pushed them.
They also did not agree to correspond in any manner except phone calls, such that I had no evidence of the deal that was aceptable to me. This is totally unacceptable as a customer experience.

Brilliant - I love it when you get one of these automated survey things after a complaint :@
