Hello Jamie and welcome to our forum.
Sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing with your laptop.
You do not always get 3 beeps when the GPU fails, it all depends on how many solder bumps have failed.
The fact that you are out of warranty does not matter as you have SIX YEARS to take action against a retailer when the goods in question are inherently defective.
The fact that you paid by credit card is also good news as you can claim for a Section 75 refund.
Full step by step details on how to obtain a refund can be found here:-
post13.html#p13There is also a letter that you can send to the credit card company should Amazon fail to comply with their obligations under the Sale Of Goods Act and that is here:-
Letter_to_CC-2.pdfDon't let them try and fob you off Jamie. They may tell you that you are out of warranty. This is rubbish as your laptop is inherently defective. They may tell you to go to HP. Again, this is rubbish as you purchased fro Amazon and it is they that are 100% responsible to you for the failure.
They will, at some point, as you to provide an engineers report.
We have had tremendous success against most of the high street retailers when the customer has presented them with a copy of our engineers report. Further details can be found here:-
need-an-independant-engineers-report-t62.htmlDon't let Amazon try and tell you any different Jamie, if your laptop is indeed inherently defective then you really cannot lose.
If you need any help or guidance along the way then please let me know.
Please keep us updated on your progress.
Good luck and best wishes
Paul
