Hello Steve,

Yes, the first date is the date of transaction and the second date is the date of processing.

So the date of purchase is 21/06/08.

Best wishes

Paul

Hello Steve,

By my calculations the minimum that you should be offered as a refund would be circa £302.

This excludes any consequential losses that you may have such as a report etc.

I hope the above helps.

Any questions please let me know.

Best wishes

Paul

Hi Paul,

I got back in touch with the customer resolution team and said that I had been back on the forum and that I was told to expect about £300 taking into consideration wear and tear and length of use etc and he would not budge from the offer of £270.00. I also pointed out that there was an Advent laptop on the PC World website for £299.00 and I would be happy with that. He was still having none of it so I asked to speak to his manager and he put me on hold and came back telling me that I could have the £299.00. So their finance department will get in touch within the next 72 hours to make a bacs transfer.

Is there anything you need me to do to add to your successful stats?

Thanks once again for your help. I like most probably would have lost out if not for researching and finding this site.

Hello Steve,

Well done on your success :! :! :! :!

Ii am really pleased that you have reached this positive resolution without the need for litigation.

It also goes to show that you shouldn't accept the retailers first offer as generally it won't be the amount that they are prepared to settle for.

Well done again and I am glad we could be helped you. :! :! :! :!

Good luck and best wishes for the future.

Paul
